Terravo

Close the loop.
Own your neighbourhood.

Terravo is an outdoor game: walk, run or ride and draw your route on the real map. When you get back to your own trail, everything inside becomes your territory - until someone takes it.

How it works

Three steps. No energy bars - only how far you go counts.

Press Start and go

The app draws your GPS trail on the map - even with the phone in your pocket and the screen locked.

Get back to your trail

When your route closes into a loop (or returns to your territory), everything inside is yours.

Grow and defend

A loop over someone else’s ground takes the overlapping part. Land you leave alone slowly fades - a walk past it brings its colour back.

On foot and by bike - two separate maps

In an hour on a bike you cover several times more ground than on foot. That’s why each has its own map: walkers and runners never lose ground to cyclists, and cyclists get their own, bigger loops.

On foot

Walking, running, out with the dog - every step at your own pace. Its own territories and rankings.

Bike

Bigger loops, longer routes, a separate map and ranking. Ground on one map never mixes with the other.

One tap in the app switches the map. Forgot? The game will ask if you’re riding a bike.

Three ways to play

Choose whether you want to compete, explore calmly or roam.

Arena

Full competition: take other players’ overlapping land, cut enclaves, form alliances.

Neighbourhoodsoon

Protected ground - for dog walkers, families and strollers. Nobody can take it; your neighbourhood is what counts.

Trailsoon

For hikers: exploration and badges, works without signal in the mountains and forests.

A game you play with your neighbours

Terravo shines where people know each other: a housing estate, campus, village, running club, family.

Alliances

A shared tag, alliance ranking, pacts and rivalries with neighbouring groups.

Local clubs

An estate or campus: chat, ranking and a weekly challenge - who walked the most.

Family crews

Kids play without their own account, supervised by a parent who approves contacts.

Message your neighbour

Write to a player whose land touches yours. You decide who can message you.

Why Terravo exists

It started as a game made for my own kids.

Terravo is made by one person - after hours, with no investors and no marketing department. I care about a game that gets you out of the house instead of pulling you into a screen: the phone records your route in your pocket while you look at the neighbourhood.

The best walks are with someone - a neighbour, a child, a dog, the crew from your street. So this is a game about your own neighbourhood and the people who live in it, not about beating records on the other side of the world.

There will be no paying to win territory and no energy bars. The model is Geocaching - a game families have played for more than twenty years. If you want to help build it, join the beta and tell me what you think.

Fair and pressure-free

Your own power only

Driving or taking the bus doesn’t claim land - the app detects vehicles and skips that stretch.

No pay-to-win

The basic game is free and built on your own movement. Optional premium extras (such as looks or convenience) may cost money, but they never give an advantage in the fight for territory.

Privacy first

Others see your territory and player name - never your route or current position.

FAQ

How much does it cost?

Downloading and playing the basic game is free: no energy bars, no paid advantages. Optional premium extras may be added later, but they won't change the rules of the fight for territory.

Can I play by bike?

Yes - on a separate bike map with its own territories and ranking. You switch it with one tap; walking and cycling ground never mix.

Does the screen have to be on?

No. The route records in the background with the phone in your pocket. Allow location “always” and turn off battery optimisation for Terravo.

What if GPS goes wrong for a moment?

Signal jumps, standing still and vehicle travel are filtered out on the server - your real route counts.

Can others see where I am?

No. Only your territory and player name are visible. If someone plays nearby you may get a notification without their position (you can turn it off).

Can I play with my kids?

Yes - in a Family Crew a parent creates a profile for the child without a separate account and decides who the child can message.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete account (immediately). Without the app: the form on the “Delete account” page - we’ll delete the account and all data within 30 days.
